① Under certain load and driving conditions, the forklift tire has a proper tire pressure. When the tire pressure is lower than the standard value, the radial deformation of the tire increases, causing excessive deflection on both sides, so that the two sides of the tire crown are grounded, the inner wall of the tire sidewall is compressed, the outer wall of the tire sidewall is pulled, and the tire cord in the tire body produces large deformation and alternating stress. Periodic compression deformation will lead to fatigue damage of the return cord, increase the relative slip between the tire's cord layer and the tire and the ground, increase the heat generated by friction, sharply increase the tire temperature, reduce the tensile strength of the rubber, loosen the cord and partially delaminate, and cause tire burst when encountering obstacles and being impacted. The concave part of the tire pattern is easy to be embedded into the road nails and stones, causing mechanical damage. The tire rolling resistance increases, and the fuel consumption increases. Uneven pressure on the tread causes severe wear on the shoulder, resulting in a "bridge effect". The tread is dentate or wavy. The test shows that when the tire pressure is 20% - 25% lower than the standard value, the fuel consumption will be increased by 20% accordingly. When the tire pressure is higher than the standard value, the middle of the tire crown will be grounded, the contact area between the tire and the road will be reduced, the load on the unit area will be increased, and the wear in the middle of the tire crown will be increased. The tire cord is overstretched, the tire cord stress becomes larger, and the tire cord fatigue process accelerates, causing the cord to break, resulting in early tire burst.
② Under a certain load and tire pressure, when the vehicle speed increases, the tire deformation frequency, carcass vibration, and the circumferential and lateral distortion of the tire (forming a stationary wave) will increase. The heat generated by friction in a unit time will increase, and the working performance of the tire will decline, and even the cord layer will break and the tread will peel off, accelerating tire wear and damage.
③ Under a certain tire pressure, the overload of the tire will increase its deflection and deformation, and the stress of the cord and cord will increase, which is easy to cause the cord breaking, loosening and ply separation at the tire wall. The stress on the tire cord will exceed the design allowable stress and the tire grounding pressure. The heat generated will increase, the tire temperature will increase, and the bearing capacity will decrease. At the same time, wear occurs due to the contact between the tire shoulder and the ground. Especially when encountering obstacles, even a small stone will cause the tire crown to burst. It has been proved in practice that when the forklift's tire load exceeds 20%, its driving mileage will be shortened by 35% when driving on turns and uneven roads; If it exceeds 50%, it will be reduced by 59%; If it is more than one time, it will be shortened by more than 80%.
④ Road conditions also have a great impact on the service life of tires, which affects the friction between forklift tires and the ground and the dynamic load on tires.
⑤ High temperature will reduce the breaking strength, elongation and hardness of rubber, reduce the adhesion strength between rubber and cord, and also accelerate the aging of rubber. For tires under high temperature, especially aging tires, when sideslip or roll over obstacles, it is easy to tear the tire crown pattern. Cracks are caused by aging of tire wall rubber, and tire wall is severely deformed, resulting in separation of tire cord and rubber. Once the tire encounters sudden load locally, it is very likely to burst.
⑥ When the tire is corroded by grease, acid and alkali substances and subjected to high temperature for a long time, the physical and chemical properties of the tire will change, the load carrying capacity will be greatly reduced, and the tire is also very easy to burst in use. In addition, the tire corroded by oil will suffer from block peeling of air sealing layer, small area rubber falling off at the tire opening, and tire cord separation from the rubber. Because the patch cannot be compatible with the oil filled rubber, even if the damage wound of the tire is small, the possibility of repair is lost.
⑦ Due to the different loads distributed by the front and rear axles, the different working characteristics of the drive wheels and steering wheels, and the different road conditions, the wear of each tire is inconsistent. If the tires of the same factory, the same size, structure, level and pattern are not replaced on both sides of the same axle, the wear of tires will be accelerated.
⑧ In use, if reasonable collocation and regular transposition are not paid attention to, resulting in uneven load bearing of forklift tires, tire wear will also be accelerated.
